On Thursday YouTube quietly removed the 15 minute time limit for video uploads on most accounts. By most accounts, I mean, according to YouTube, those accounts “with a history of complying with the YouTube Community Guidelines and copyright rules”.
So how long can a video now be that is uploaded to YouTube? No one knows for sure, but a few users have reported success with videos up to 2.5 hours long.
How do you know if your account has had the time limit removed? It’s simple. Just log into your YouTube account and choose upload. If upload limits have been removed on your account you’ll see a message like this:
